About this product

Cotton blossom honey, a Valley specialty most people have never tasted.

The San Joaquin Valley grows cotton, and cotton blooms in summer when little else does, so the bees work it hard. The honey is light amber, mild and smooth, with a soft, almost buttery sweetness and none of the sharp edge of wildflower. It is one of the milder honeys, which makes it a good everyday jar for tea and baking, and it is a taste of a crop that defines this part of California. Raw and unheated, so the enzymes and pollen are intact.

Who this is for

  • Anyone who finds wildflower or buckwheat too strong
  • Tea and coffee drinkers who want a clean, mild sweetener
  • Bakers replacing sugar with a honey that will not take over the flavor
  • A gift that tells a Central Valley story
