It is 100% pure copper, solid through, and Copper Mug Company confirmed it to us. No stainless core, no plating, no coating. Plated stainless looks identical in a photograph and weighs almost nothing in the hand; it wears through at the rim eventually and never patinas, because there are only a few microns of copper on it. This mug is heavy and it ages. The bright finish goes warm and uneven, and that is the difference showing itself.

How to use

Water, beer and spirits suit bare copper best. A mule with fresh lime is acidic and traditional; drink it cold and do not let it stand for hours. Never store anything in copper. Hand wash only, no exceptions; detergent and heat leave copper blotchy. Lemon and salt restores the shine, or let it darken. 16 oz.
